Question about compression garments

Recommended Posts

My husband asked me about this today and I have to admit I haven't thought about it too much.

I assume that under your compression garment, you wear underwear, right? My garment will look like a body suit - under my breasts down to my groin area. If it's as snug as they say it will be, what is the most comfortable sort of undies to go under them?

lellow-I had a lower body lift a little over a year ago & I didn't wear any underwear under my compression garment. My doctor has everyone wear them next to the skin, it compresses the incisions better & they need to be tight w/o any wrinkles. If you wore underwear, the waistband would probably rub on the incisions. Your doctor will let you know what he/she wants.

Are you having a tt? You didn't say. I will tell you the truth when I had my TT I didn't wear panties unless I went some where and then I just picked out what I thought wouldn't rub, but I didn't have the bodysuit type I had the one that wraps around you and velcros.

I apologise for not clarifying. I'm having a lower body lift with a vertical incision.

I guess I could go without undies. I'm just worried about when my TOM arrives (it's due about a week after my op)!

I would guess it would depend on how heavy your flow is. (rather you are a pad or tampon gal) I didn't have the lower lift, just a TT so I'm sorry I don't have much to offer on that subject. Good luck to you and I'm sure you'll look and feel great after healing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
