Dr. Tiffany Jessee in Tampa. The staff is awesome and Dr. Jessee is great. I spoke to several other offices and this one was the best.

I'll second this. I was banded in 2008. Needed slippage revision a year ago. I might not have at all but her Staff was very involved and concerned and convinced me to take a swallow test. Been fine ever since.

Hello Tampa Banders!

Looking to start a support group or just activity group in the Tampa Bay area 40+. My best friend and I have been trying to find one and decided since we can't, Why not start one. Maybe get a personal trainer for the group that will meet with us. Have group walks, cookouts and other functions together. We all understand each others limitations, anxieties and insecurities. Great for all that get involved. 813, 727, 863, 352 and anyone close enough that wants to participate 40+. Msg me your contact info. We posssibly will have our own FB page as well. Suggestions welcomed.

I would recommend Dr. Aguila in south Tampa. He does surgery at Memorial Hospital and his office is across the street from the hospital.

Hi I'm going there too. I have my preop appt on Monday at the hospital. Do you know what it involves?

Hi My name is Bibi and I live north of Orlando in Lake County. I have chosen Dr. Jessee at SunCoast in Tampa for my LapBand surgeon. I've done over a year of research & I feel Dr. Jessee would be good for me. That being said I'm hoping to find someone willing to share their experience Dr. Jessee & her staff at SunCoast Bariatrics... Especially if Dr. Jessee used the one-incision SPIDER procedure. I will be going through a 3 month supervised diet & that's got me a little nervous because I don't know what to expect. I am still in the very early stages of the process. I attended Dr. Jessee's seminar 2/11 & yesterday I completed/submitted the first wave of paperwork & anxiously awaiting the next step. Looking forward to this next phase of life & changing my eating & exercise habits and being a success with this journey... ANY & ALL advice, input & motivation is welcomed! =0)

Dr Jessee is my surgeon. I don't know about the spider incision. I had my surgery in 2008 and a repair in 2011.

I find her staff helpful and Very friendly. All around good experience with them.

I didn't have to do a supervised diet, however. I had years of back up medical records!

Lost 100 lbs after surgery. Gained back 12 (which happens) and I'm working on shedding that.

Alfuso, the SPIDER procedure involves one incision at the top of the belly button as opposed to 5 incisions. I'm hoping I can get that procedure done Can you share what your pre op & post op diet was like? Also, what was post op like, as far as recovering from surgery? Thanks for your input.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
