Has anyone experienced port sore after dinner?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was banded on 03/09/2009. So I am now 2 weeks and 2 days post op. Starting from this week, I began to eat soft food - including fish, eggs, fat free cottage cheese, well-cooked non-stringy vege and tofu. I haven't had a fill yet so I don't know where my port is. I could not feel it on my left as well. I have a realize band. Sometimes I feel the muscle being pulled and tightened to the left of my bellybutton. Tonight after dinner that area (under the left breast to the left of the bellybutton) felt sore again. Could this area be where my port was placed? Is it normal to have this kind of soreness? Has anyone else experienced it? Thanks.

Yeah that's it. I was banded June 17, 08 & I still have that pain 1 or 2 times a week.

Thanks for the response. This morning I left something a little heavy, probably 9 lbs, the site to my left bellybuttom sores again. Once I put the thing down, the soreness disappears. However, after I got to office and sat down to eat my Breakfast, one hard boilded egg and 1/4 cup of fat free cottage cheese, my stomac (area under my left breast) sores again. Does this mean I am eating too much or maybe I was eating too fast?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
