Ahh well things havent gone as smoothly as i would of liked... I do still have the same band. I had a massive slip and my doctor had to cut through alot of stomach muscle to umm I guess untangle the band. He then had to pull the slip back throug and repostion it, hence the extra pain and its taking so much longer to settle than last time. I know its only day 5 I guess I am terribly impatient amd emotional as the assault leading to the slip wasnt my fault. I am terribly glad I still have my band and extremely grateful for my amazing surgeon and anethatist.

thank you all for the support im pretty cranky and fed up, Wish I could punch a boxing bag!!!!!!!!

Ky, so glad you checked in! That does sound like a bad slip! Thank God you still have your band!

Hmmm, maybe the boxing bag is a thought for a new workout when you're up and about and able to do vigorous activity again! Something to think about! Would be great exercise for both body and mind.

I'm sorry this round of surgery laid you so low. I hope you've got some good pain meds. I'm assuming you have to go through the whole post-op diet regime again?

Hang in there. Things WILL get better and you still HAVE your band!

Take care!

Hiya Heartfire,

thanks so much hun.

I am feeling more positive each morning I wake. I need to go to the doc this morning as 3 of my wounds are weeping but I have the best GP.

I have started the whole liquid mushy faze again, The one great thing is that my surgeon basically said that I know what I can and can't eat to do the best for my band so im on a diet between mushies and liquid. Im not really hungry. I think im a bit sore to be hungry. I'm not to worried I went 6 weeks before the band not eating much..I am just elated I still have my friend!!

I call it Kekona it means second born in Hawaiian and I guess thats how i will feel in a few days!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
