A snack idea and a super low calorie drink!

Recommended Posts

Hey gang, I have been worried that won't be getting enough Fiber in my diet post band. So I created veggie bundles last night and I am here to tell you they are fantastic! (it probably has been done on here many times before, but I was so excited about it, I wanted to share.) Even my 8 year old daughter ate one and fell in love with it. She wanted to take two to school today.

I took jicima, zucchini, red and green bell pepper, baby carrots, spring onions and a raw sweet potato and just did finger length slices of everything and then took three thin slices of turkey(made some ham ones as well) and put a mixed combination of the veggies on the turkey and then rolled it up tightly. I layed out my meat where a quarter of the meat was overlayed by the next slice. That gave me the length to do the roll. I then put it in a press and seal piece of wrap and twisted it like a tootsie roll at both ends.

A neat snack that is easy to put in a baggy and carry anywhere. I am using two servings as a snack. Haven't quite got the calorie/carbs/fat/fiber thing worked out yet.

Also, I want to mention that Walmart has their own no calorie drink mix, that comes in those little take-a-long tubes like the expensive brand. The orange and the punch are absolutely fantastic tasting and alot less expensive. They have lemonade as well, but I didn't like it as well as the others. Happy snacking! Keri

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
