JENNIFER7375 3 Posted March 23, 2009 Im just getting to the part of my diet where I can advance to more solid food. So far I've tolerated everything pretty well. But so far every time I try chicken in any form I end up puking. Anyone else have problems with chicken? Any suggestions?

Delivered 0 Posted March 23, 2009 I can't do chicken either. For some reason, I have trouble with most meats. I can tolerate grilled fish, but not any other meat. I think it's because I don't chew enough. By nature, I am a fast eater, per se; however, I am learning to eat slower which allows me to eat chicken salad. I do miss chicken...I am a fish and chicken girl!
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted March 23, 2009 Not me! I am sitting here eating turkey right now. I DO have it with something moist like a little gravy or BBQ Sauce and that does the trick. And SMALL SMALL little bites and chew chew chew. If I were so restricted that I couldn't eat beef and chicken I'd get unfilled; I'd die on fish only. Just die. JENNIFER7375 3 Posted March 23, 2009 i've tolerated beef a few times as well as shrimp and grilled fish. it just feels weird to not be able to eat chicken. the funny thing is that almost any diet you go on pushes grilled chicken breast and now its the one food i cant even tolerate
Shanyab 0 Posted March 23, 2009 I am okay with chicken but beef ( which is my absolute favorite ) I cant eat to save my life. I actually just get ill even trying to get any down. I second using some kind of sauce and small bites, its about the only way I can manage. good luck to you.

JENNIFER7375 3 Posted March 23, 2009 have you tried pot roast ? I made it in the crock pot a few days ago. It was so tender I had no problems keeping it down. I'm actually online looking for chicken recipes to make in the crock pot now. Maybe that will get it tender enough to be tolerated . My best friend had the band done in October, she eats alot of canned chicken but says she can't tolerate any other way. A few people have suggested purred chicen to me. But just the thought of purred meat is enough to make me gag
*slim* 2 Posted March 23, 2009 I have made a great crock pot chicken that even my family liked. You take your chicken and put it into the crockpot with salsa (and any of the seasonings you like) and let it cook. The meat was tender and juicy. It was very easy to get down. Something else is to try eating dark meat chicken.
JENNIFER7375 3 Posted March 23, 2009 thanks, i think ill try that this week. how much chicken and how much salsa do you use?
*slim* 2 Posted March 23, 2009 I made this for the whole family (DH and preteen son). I had 6 chicken breast tenderloins and 3 skinless chicken thighs. I put an entire jar of Sam's Choice salsa over it all and cooked it all day while I was at work. I made some spanish rice for the family which they put the remaining sauce onto. I need to mention that this isn't my recipe (in case the person that did make it sees this). I found it here in the food and nutrition section of the forum. crystal525 26 Posted March 23, 2009 For me white meat chicken is never tolerated well. Boneless skinless thighs are about the only chicken I can eat. Unless the chicken is so tender and with something to dip it in...sometimes that won't even work. I usually avoid the white meat. But--I am a dark meat girl anyway! But so far every time I try chicken in any form I end up puking. Anyone else have problems with chicken? Any suggestions? I would be really bummed if I couldnt eat chicken anymore. I love it. I was banded on 1/27 and havent had any problems with any meat. I am trying pork chops tonight. 2 nights after my second fill I had about 2 oz of chicken from applebees that came on one of their mini slider sandwiches. Ate it without the bread of course, but it was fine. Its just hard to tell since we are all so different. I also eat A LOT of chicken salad that I make. I get the white meat chicken breast in a can from tyson. Its chunky, but I wisk it with my fork so its real shredded. I add light mayo, diced celery, and diced sweet pickles. Its one of my staples. I eat about 3-4 oz of it for lunch several times a week.
