I was banded on 7-18-09, I did great in the beginning and was doing great until december. I have 5.5 cc in my band and I just had a fill in the middle of febraury. I am not losing any weight. I excersise I am a gymnastics coach, and I have many people come up to me and tell me how great I look for I was 283 and today I am 207. I want to get to that 100 pound mark. I have the munchies, I eat my Protein, I do my best to eat when I am suppose to. I crave sweets like crazy- mainly choclate and Peanut Butter. Ive done it in a shake- not the same...lol

Anyone else done this? I am very committed to this. I am just getting discouraged. Plus I feel full yet my brain is telling me I need to snack on something. My brain and stomach are not talking to each other very well. What can I do?:crying:

okay - I admit..I eat 1 - 100 calorie chocolate bar a day and a tsp of Peanut Butter because if I dont I will go crazy and binge.

lol - I am losing more slowly now too and I am frustrated - but know I dont want to go back to before so its worth it. I am doing liquids this week to jump start things again. I did it once before and lost 6 lbs again. I needed it to keep myself in this mindset.

I have had two fills - and my last one was just a week ago...its not enough - I cant go back until April 11 so its purely will power until then.

You can do this...and just think how much better you feel than pre-band!

I have only been banded since 3/11/09 and haven't experienced losing weight or hitting plats. yet with it, but any other time i lost major weight and hit a plat., I stepped up my exercising plan and went back in my journal and started over with some of my diet habits from then. Good Luck you are doing great!!

medic, we were banded about the same time, but I hit my plateau a month before you did. I went 6 weeks and didn't lose anything! I looked at my food journal and noticed that my weight stalled when I added special k Cereal to my diet. I did that because it was easy to eat after I became a little too tight after my hysterectomy at the end of december. Look at what you are eating and make sure you are consuming enough calories each day. As far as the cravings, if you can consume some without binging, then do it. I bought some Peanut Butter hearts at valentine's and would eat 1. They aren't great for you, but if you eat just one and adjust your calories to account for it, then eat it. I eat sf dark chocolate pudding almost every day. It is good for curbing my chocolate craving.

Again, look at your foods you are eating each day and see if you notice a drop in healthy foods. Maybe you are a little too tight from your February fill and you are leaning toward slider foods (like my cereal) without even realizing it. If everything is how it should be, it could just be your plateau and you will just have to wait it out, even though it is extremely frustrating.

BTW, have you ever posted in the july master thread?

I am in the same boat. I haven't had any restriction since my last appointment almost two weeks ago and I have the munchies BIG time. I can't seem to get a hold of it. I'm not gaining any wait but I'm worried if I don't get this under control soon I will.

Talk to your doctor. I am down 104 pound and hit a plateau at about 80 lost. I had a small fill which got rid of the munchies and continued to watch what I ate. I maybe lost 5 pounds in 2 months and then without me making any changes I started to lose again. I think sometimes your body needs a break. If you are getting the munchies you probably need a small fill. Good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
