Saggy McSaggerson :)

Recommended Posts

Obviously I'm talking about saggy skin, and mine has been a huge issue this month. I'm only doen 30 lbs since surgery, but I've done the yo-yoing diets for so long that I have a "jelly roll" that is saggy and has gotten worse. Since the weight loss from the band, it's gotten so saggy that it's causing yeast rashes between my thighs and under the roll. Anyone else having this problem with such little weight loss? I know thre's not much that can be done yet unil I've lost the max weight, but its' gotten beyond annoying witht he rashes being there for almost a solid two months! I finally got into my regular doctor and he gave me some cream, and all I can do is keep my fingers crossed now.

This is definitely one of those topics that varies from person to person. I'm down 90+ pounds and I'm not saggy at all. In fact, I am so impressed by how well my skin has adjusted. While everyone's different, a combination of 1) drinking lots of Water 2) LOTS of exercise, both cardio and strength 3) copious amounts of skin moisturizer have done the trick for me. I can't wait to open the swimming pool this year!

Hi -

Congratulations on what you have lost so far! Everyone is different so don't worry about how much you have lost just that you have.

I have a similar situation to Brad. I have lost about 60 lbs since surgery and due to exercise I am not sagging as much as I thought I would. Trust me, there is some sagging (I am not 20!) My abdominal muscles have a very long way to go as well, but I think I may be lucky enough that I won't need surgery there.

I hope you can resolve the issues you are having. My grandmother had that for years and it was very tough to get rid of.

This won't help you now, but document every rash, dr appt and prescription. That could help with pursuing insurance coverage when and if you do decide on plastic surgery.

*lol* Well talk about a kick in the stomach - I'm the only one who seems to have an issue. :P My Mom had the same issue after her gastric bypass - I've just got bad genes. *lol*

Yea, thats what my Mom and doctors keep telling me - keep records! I'm going to have one heck of a time getting cosmetic surgery done with our civilian insurance, so I'm going to have to have all the help I can get! (After this month we no longer have military insurance, which is how I got the lapband done) I'm going to have to wait until we have kids anyway, so I'm stuck at waiting a few years - which is the disheartening part.
