I am a retired person in California, aged 67. How do I decrease my property taxes? The amount of tax appears to be increasing year after year, whereas the property prices are falling. The high taxes are burning out my savings too! I need help.

I think you can ask for a reassessment of your property value. Considering that the housing market has taken such a plunge recently, especially in California, it is worth looking into.

How come you say you're 67 in your narrative, but under your statistics you're listed as being 30? Weird.....unless this is just a spam post. I already deleted a very suspicious "reply" on how to lower California property taxes, and I'm keeping an eye on both accounts.
