flowers 0 Posted March 22, 2009 I dont think you feel the actual ulcer. I think you feel the effects of the ulcer, the acid and heartburn causes pain.
flowers 0 Posted March 22, 2009 I never feel the band except when I am getting a fill. Then it feels weird, but only until the fill is over with. I can, however, feel my port. Hello to another July butterfly. I hate the whole fill thing. Im totally grossed out when the doctor points our my insides and how they look and usually come so close to fainting, its a close call if I can get my head down fast enough to keep from fainting. I do that at the sight of needles too, cant stop the reaction. My mom said of all people, she thinks I wouldnt be the one to get a lapband where I need to get fills. scarletttara 0 Posted April 17, 2009 My doctor said you will be able to feel the port outside your stomach. Is this normal? She said it was necessary to be able to feel it because of the fills. She is giving me the smaller port though because I am not as big as most starting out. Anyone else have the smaller port?
Jodi_620 37 Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) My doctor said you will be able to feel the port outside your stomach. Is this normal? She said it was necessary to be able to feel it because of the fills. She is giving me the smaller port though because I am not as big as most starting out. Anyone else have the smaller port? Yes, it is quite necessary to be able to find the port for fills. It was hard for me to feel it at first because it was deep in the fat. I would lie on my back and lift my feet in the air which helped the ab muscles to push it forward so the doc could find it and give me a fill. Now that I have lost most of the fat from my stomach, I can feel it and almost see it. It seems to be higher now too. But the band itself is behind your liver you can't feel it with your fingers nor can you feel it with your stomach. Edited April 17, 2009 by Jodi_620
