A little history on me.....

I have lost 38 lbs & want to lose 50-55 more. So, in total I'll lose about 90 ish. Plus I have had 3 babies & my belly really got BIG. Anyway, as I lose I can already see the skin wrinkling & sagging :tt2:. I'm so mad at myself for letting myself get so big over the years that I ruined my body. My skin will never go back. So, after I lose all this weight I'll have that to deal w/. It really sucks! There's no way I can affford a TT. CAn any one suggest a good surgen in Boston area? What is a round about cost for TT? Thank you!

Back on another thread someone suggested google-ing "Average cost of Plastic Surgery". That kept me entertained/dreaming for hours. TT's are not cheap when all is said and done. Best of Luck.

Heidi,

I've also felt a little of that, but what's done is done. I just try to be happy with the weight lost and keep saving!

Hi Heidi,

Sorry you are bumming! Maybe you just need to give yourself more time for everything to come together?

I am from the Boston area, and I find the further "North" you go, the prices are cheaper.

I had a breast reduction by Dr. Dina Eliopoulous in Chelmsford, MA. She is wonderful and runs a great practice. I can't say enough good things about her. She has a web site. She is also georgeos, so it made me feel kinda reassured that she would make me look all purdy! lol.

If you want more information feel free to PM me.

Good luck Heidi.

PS: You are already beautiful! You are going to rule!

Your post struck a chord with me. Some days I could just cry that in 45 years, I just ruined one good body.

But on my good days, I am thankful everything works, my body is healthy and beautiful. I have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful kids.

Again on bad days, I feel like I only look good in clothes. I have horrible stretch marks from childbirth X 3. I would like a TT and may get one one day, but for now, I thank the band for not being obese.

BTW, I have been at goal for over a year now and feel fabulous despite the sagging skin. AND I think we are so hard on ourselves. My dh could care less about my sagging this or wrinkling that. He just loves me.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I feel ok. I looked into my insurance coverage & I think they may pay for a TT eventually. I'm just gonna concentrate on my weightloss for now & keep my head up.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
