-OK- HERE IT GOES. I SPOKE TO DOCTORS AND NUTRITIONISTS AND IT SDOESNT MATTER IF YOU GET ALL YOUR Protein, VITIAMINS, MINERALS, Biotin OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU'RE TAKING. IT WILL NOT HELP. YOUR BODY HAS BEEN TRAUMATIZED WITH SURGERY AND UNTIL YOUR YOUR HORMONE LEVELS GET BACK TO NORMAL, THERE IS NO PILL OR SUPPLEMENT THAT WILL HELP. jUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING, MAYBE TAKE Biotin , THATS WHAT i TAKE. ITS ONLY TEMPORARY AND YOUR ARE RIGHT AT THE MARK WHERE hair LOSS HAPPENS. JUST BE GLAD IT GROWS BACK, BUT THAT TAKES TIME. ITS FREAKING ME OUT TOO. I ALREADY HAD FINE hair. BUT AS LONG AS IT GROWS BACK, I"LL BE OKAY- YOU WILL TOO.

hello there..

I would speak to your doctor about the hair loss because that sounds strange..i have had the lap band for some time now..i have hair breakage and thats because I use alot of hair styling products like hairspray...Maybe its the weather..sometimes when seasons change hair shreds? maybe try www.webmd.com or wikipedia.org and key word search hair loss..maybe its ur body adjusting to the changes ur making..Hope this helps..God Bless.!

This is very hard for me, I have waist length hair, have always had long hair and now it's just coming out, it may not seem like that should be so worrisome but oh my is it. I hope we all get through these obstacles without too much difficulty. I am just stressed. Thanks for answering.

I too had surgery in November and my hair is falling out too! I had thin hair to begin with so it's definitely worse.I'm taking Biotin & even bought the Nioxin brand Shampoo & conditioner & scalp treatment but it has a gross medicene smell and makes my hair feel dry! So I dont know.......stinky hair or no hair! LOL ! At least they say it's suppose to grow back.....cant wait!!:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
