MsE 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Hello everyone. I am a 31 year old mother/wife. I have two beautiful children and a wonderful husband whom I would like to stay around with for a long time. For that reason alone, I have decided to look into getting the lap-band. I have already been to one seminar and have been told that the process is not an easy one nor is it a short one. I plan to be patient but can't help but feel anxious about the surgery. I am waithing on the doctors to call me with an initial clinic visit to get the ball rolling. Any advice out there??? tammya5 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Just hang in there! I was self-pay so I was able to get everything done in about two weeks. If your insurance is paying, it will take longer. I just got my band Friday, March 13th, and so far everything is going well. I'm down about 7 lbs already. It is a little tough but not real bad. I just hope that it stays that way! Let us know when you get your surgery and how your progressing. Good Luck!
crzytchr 3 Posted March 18, 2009 How long it takes depends on how many hoops your insurance company makes you jump through. It only took 3 weeks from my first phone call to the surgeon's office until my surgery. Good luck!
