jacobandhaleysmommy 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Has anyone had any experience with getting approved with BCBS KS? I'm wondering how strict they are on their requirements? I have BMI of 37.7 and no co-morbidities that I am aware of. I've done WW and the gym thing and didn't hardly lose anything. Any suggestions or experiences would be great! MsNickelback 3 Posted March 17, 2009 I am in OP and they would not approve the surgery, though I had high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis. For me the surgery changed my life already. I'm down about 45 in 8 months, and weighed 214 at peak. Lost the HBP with the surgery as I had a hernia I didn't know about, and feel like I finally have energy. Best of luck, but the contract of insurance specifically excluded WLS
julie.ann 1 Posted March 22, 2009 Nope, Direct exclusion. I went to Dr. Kirshenbaum in Denver becuase I am self pay. $9950 and so nice with great recommendations and $15 a fill. It costs me less to go drive there for a fill than to pay to establish in Wichita or KC. Good luck. I hope they'll give in for you. I wish they would have for me.
