First, you should try measuring as well as weighing. I just mentioned to another poster earlier today that in the beginning my clothes started getting looser even when the scale was not moving.

Otherwise, don't focus so much on weight loss at this stage. The first six weeks are for healing. You could very well still have swelling and Fluid retention from surgery. Be patient, follow the rules and as you start using your band, weight loss will come.

Don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat, so if the workout is new, and you are building muscle that could be the reason scale isn't moving. The up side is that I would put money down that you are 'SMALLER', check that tape measure!! GOOD JOB, I haven't gotten to the gym yet, bum ankle.

Unfortunately, I have no advice, but can tell you that you are not alone, I am having the exact same issue. I was banded on 2/24 and have lost one pound, which was also in the first week.

Because I am starting to get really depressed about this, I spoke with the nutritionist in the Dr. office this morning. She said that all I could do was continue to eat around 1000-1100 calories a day and get 60 grams of Protein in. I have also been working out, but nothing seems to move that scale!

I go in for my first fill a week from Thursday and she said that I can expect to see some kind of result after that.

Feel free to commiserate anytime, I hope the scale starts dipping for you soon!

From my surgery date to my first fill (6 weeks), I lost a whopping 10 pounds. Man - I was so frustrated. From my first fill to the second fill (8 weeks), I lost 8 pounds. Ok - now I was really ticked off. The second fill hit my sweet spot, I lost 64 pounds in 7 months!!! If somebody told me I would lost 82 pounds in 10 months I would have thought they were off their rocker! When you get frustrated, try to remember it's a lifestyle, not a sprint.

Hang in there - you're doing great. I think this phase is known as "Bandster Hell." No fill, only a slight restriction mostly due to swelling. Keep up the great work at the gym, it will make a difference when you start your fills!! Good luck on your journey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
