RestlessMonkey 7 Posted March 15, 2009 My doc said if it's going to happen, it will...I lost hair from 3 mos to 6 mos, never enough for it to be noticed by anyone but me, and now it's stopped. I didn't take any supplement except my multi Vitamin over that time.
MissBS 3 Posted March 15, 2009 I have lost quite a bit of hair in the last couple of months. I get my Protein in daily and take biotin.... but not sure if it has helped. Luckily, I had thick hair to begin with. One of the ladies at my surgeon's office did tell me that getting all of my Water in each day might help too... who knows?? It does seem to be getting a little bit better. I'm just hoping that my shedding season is almost over. Becky
mljalways 1 Posted March 16, 2009 I have been loosing alot too. I hope it quits soon. I am at the 4 month mark
wstorms 2 Posted March 16, 2009 I take 5000 mg of Biotin a day with my other Vitamins. I started this as soon as I could after banding. I am now three months post-op and am still just losing my normal daily hair loss. I have been told that it is normal to lose 100 hairs a day. I think that there are so many factors with Hair loss that you can't pin point it to one thing. Just like everything, everyone is different and reacts differently to weight loss. wintobethin 5 Posted March 16, 2009 It's been 2 months, down 30 pounds with 62 to go and no Hair loss, but got a lot of it. My hair dresser is impressed, I see her every 4 weeks and she said said my hair is in good shape.
Catherine55 43 Posted March 16, 2009 I haven't had any additional hair loss since I was banded in October. Actually, I started coming to work about an hour earlier each day and, since I'm not a morning person, I decided to go an extra day without washing my hair, as long as it still looks and feels clean. This seems to have done me a world of good. My hair is healthier (less torture with the hairdryer & straightening iron), and my stylist tells me that it's thicker. I haven't been taking any hair-related supplements (just my Multivitamin & calcium), but I am really careful to make sure I get enough Protein. On days when I'm having trouble eating, I buy one of those Isopure proein drinks from GNC. (I feel like a walking ad for those drinks! But they are so much better than Protein shakes!) Is that mg or mcg's you are taking?
