So I am 4 months post-op and have lost about 40 lbs..but hardly anything for a month. I received a my 3rd fill 2 weeks ago but really didn't get too much restriction. As of yesterday I have been getting a tightness if my chest whenever I attempt to eat and sometimes I do that PBing or whatever it is called when I throw up my food with tons of salvia. I have only PBed a couple other times..but I have never had this tight chest..and I am discouraged I've haven't been losing much anymore. Please someone tell me what you think this might be...does it sound like a slippage?

And if it is a slippage..how does this work? Does the surgeon operate right away or is it scheduled for another day.

It is Saturday and I'm out of town..so I can't really call my doctor right now

This hasn't happened to me, but several posters have said that it takes two weeks for their fill to kick in. Maybe that's what has happened to you. Also, once you have a bad pb incident, there's a very good chance that you may have swelling, so it's helpful to go back on liquids for a couple of days to let things settle down. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Odds are that your fill has just now "kicked in". That is odd, but it happens that way for some...get a fill, nothing, then 2 weeks later BAM! If I were you I'd do what we're told to post fill or post PB: switch to liquids for a day, then progress SLOWLY up to regular food. And once you are on solids, chew chew chew very small bites (remember pencil eraser sized!) As long as you can keep liquid down you aren't in danger of dehydrating, and your soreness is PROBABLY from being agitated. Unless you think you're having a heart attack...(I know the last time I PB'd it hurt worse than my gall bladder attacks EVER did, but it went away, and I knew it wasn't my heart, just the band)

In other words don't want to stop you from checking with a doc if you feel you need to but otherwise just do liquids progress to full liquids then mushies soft food and regular food (chew chew chew) and see how you feel.

Oh okay thank you. I hope this is the case...I mean the doc can always take some of the fil out if it is too tight...I would be devistated if I had to pay for an operation on my own..here's to being optomistic!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
