That's the only way I can go to sleep. Nurse put a pillow at my back in the hospital so I could, haven't had any problems doing so at home.

CONGRATS!

Hi everyone, I was banded March 11th (doing very good) is it okay to sleep on our sides?

Thanks,

Sherry:unsure:

I'm a side/stomach sleeper and have had no problems. I first slept on my stomach at 3 days post op and been fine ever since!!

Hello, I was banded on Jan 28th and that was also a big concern for me. I am not a back sleeper and while I had to stay in the hospital overnite I was on my back the whole nite  My back hurt me for two weeks. Needless to say when I got home from the hospital I hit the bed, laid on my side and slept for 8 hours. It felt great and have never had problems sleeping on my side. You should be fine. Good luck on your journey. :w00t:

I was banded on the 9th, slept on my sides in the hospital with a pillow up against me. When I got home I couldnt sleep or get comfortable in the bed so I slept in the recliner for a few days. Now I am back to sleeping in the bed with a pillow up against me and sleeping ok..Best of luck to you.

More power to ya if you can already sleep on your side!! It took me almost two weeks until I could finally sleep on my side. Talk about miserable!! I hate sleeping on my back! :) Good luck to ya!!!

Hey Jen,

I'm in Odenton

Cool, I know where that is. I used to go up there to figure skate at Piney Orchard sometimes in the summer when our rink was closed. I always was a bit plumper than most of the other skaters, this year I have not even gone back to the rink.. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
