on a downward spiral

A few months back I had to have my port moved. Ever since then I can't find it in myself to get a fill.. I went once but I had a sinus infection after the fill I had them take it back out.. With my head so tight I couldn't stand the feeling of being tight all over... ( I had a terrible time at the beginning with my band). I don't know if I am scared or what... I know that in all my years I have never ate candy bars except on rare occasions now I can't make it through the day.. I have put on around 5 lbs of what I have lost, I have lost my motivation. My husband doesn't do much, he has hip problems so he won't (cant ) walk with me.. I just don't know what to do... Please don't yell at me I just need some support. I just moved to a different part of town so I don't really know anyone... and recently a job change. I guess I have great excuses... Just wish I had a buddy to walk with and go through this with...:scared2:

Jill, stress is a killer for all of us. Pick up the phone and make the appointment for the fill. You know it will help and put you back on track. Remember all the reasons you had the surgery. You have lost weight and are on the right track. This was just a glitch. Pat yourself on the back for what you have accomplished! Now go to the phone :scared2: Good luck and keep us posted.

Don't give up. Try to bring yourself and your family closer by calling and talking to them about what is going on. Don't be afraid to walk alone. Sometimes alone time is great for thinking and planning what to do with your life. Find a Lap Band support group locally and see if they get together for talks and outings.

I know you can find the strength and many friends to help you through this time.

Sorry for ya. Our LapBand center has meetings and the people there make plans for doing activities together maybe you should try that. Good Luck. P.S. I have had to get Fluid taken out a few times due to medical test 5lb gain won't hurt you. I would gain 3-5 lbs in a few days and it would go away or level out in a week or so.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
