lat1nacurv3s 0 Posted March 13, 2009 Frankly, I don't like the taste of it much if at all. I only tolerate it because it's healthier than regular sugar. lol However, I found another sugar substitute called "Cactus Honey Powder". And it leaves no after taste like that of Splenda. Here's an article I found on-line about it: powder.html" rel="external nofollow">Who Says Cactus Honey powder is Honey! But I'm going to do a little more digging on it....just in case it turns out it's not actually healthy for you. Because not all things natural are ya know. Have any of you tried it, or know about it? And/or have you tried anything else besides Splenda that you like better and why? THANKS for any feedback!! Sandra
Jodi_620 37 Posted March 13, 2009 I have been using Stevia. I wouldn't say as flavor goes, I like it better than the artifical sweetners but it is natural and better than no sweetener at all and does not affect my blood sugar. Now that the FDA has approved it, it has been easier to find on store shelves.
lat1nacurv3s 0 Posted March 13, 2009 Stevia...I have yet to try it but I will. I like the part about it not messing with your sugar levels. Lord knows I can do with out the highs, lows to crash! lol Thanks! Sandra
Jodi_620 37 Posted March 13, 2009 Just be careful which brand you choose. Now that the FDA has approved it, some of the big companies have jumped on the Stevia bandwagon but have added chemicals to it to make it taste better and not so much all natural. Good choices are "Stevia in the Raw" and "Sweet leaf". I would pass on brands like "Truvia" and "Purevia".

That's why I'm questioning even this Cactus Honey Powder. Because unless you read the label you never really know what your getting. The ingredients on the package for it are: Cactus Pure Honey & Maltodextrin.
Blaze21 5 Posted March 13, 2009 The only thing that I can tolerate, that has splenda in it, is carnation instant Breakfast no sugar added. I haven't tried any other artificial sweeteners because I really have no use for them.

I haven't tried any other artificial sweeteners because I really have no use for them. That's great for you or anyone who has decided to live a sugar-free lifestyle. But it's not a realistic lifestyle for me. I'll suck it up and use Splenda if that's all I can get! lol :scared2:
