Margo 0 Posted August 21, 2005 I have finally come to point where I am feeling hungry. I am 4 days post-op. I have been on a full liquid diet since August 3.....then 2 days of Clear Liquids prior to surgery....then nothing to eat or drink on surgery day....now I am on day 4 of clear liquids!!! I am dreaming about Cream of Wheat, pureed cottage cheese or simply some blendized Soup. My next change in "diet" is full liquids starting Wednesday..........man, I hope I can hold out......would some cream of wheat be a problem now????
vinesqueen 2 Posted August 21, 2005 well, cream of wheat isn't clear liquids. Not by any stretch of the imagination. You can do this. Wednesday you can probably have the cream of wheat, but no lumps, and made with twice the amount of Water or milk one would usually use. Luckily, I was told anything that would fit through a straw... La_madam 20 Posted August 21, 2005 would some cream of wheat be a problem now????__________________ Follow your Dr's post op instructions, they are there for a reason. Is cream of wheat worth any risk so soon post op? You can do it, just a few more days. We all have been where you are at. Hang in there
piercedqt78 658 Posted August 21, 2005 Try having warm broth from a bowl not a cup and use a spoon. Trick your body into thinking you are eating, I did and it really worked for me. Also are you allowed egg drop Soup? I ordered the soup with no eggs, just the thick broth, it is usually made as it is ordered so they can make it without the egg. I also felt more full after warm tea with honey, instead of sugar, something about the honey that did it for me. ~Mandy
Margo 0 Posted August 21, 2005 Nope, no egg drop Soup yet!!! I think I will stick with what the doc says and suggestions from la madam and vinesqueen and just stick it out for 2 more days...I CAN DO IT!!!!! Thanks...
Alexandra 55 Posted August 21, 2005 Margo, you can indeed do it. Good luck, and remember you're doing this for your stomach's health, not just to satisfy your doctor's whims. It's important!
