I have had 9 fills, 14 months post-op. I did get a renewed restriction after most of these fills. Either .5cc or 1.0, 1.5 cc each time, total 9 cc now. Please work to plan your meals, It also gives you something to do with all that extra time, rather than eating. You can exercise. Keep food journal, Pulling out some of your smaller clothes, you will need them faster than you think. I mainly have to plan all of my meals anyway. Whatever is for dinner I take a portion of my plate and put in a container for my kunch the next day. Done, Not to worry about lunch for the next day. Plan, learn, walk, Eat only when you are hungry...

I've had 5 fills and may be in my sweet spot. I am losing and I am comfortable. I do not plan my meals as I am at the mercy of my very demanding father and daughter who both have strong opinions about where we eat for dinner (we eat out a lot). So what I eat is what I can find on a menu. I do often share a meal with either my dad or daughter, or I will order from the children's menu if there is a healthy selection. Some restaurants will allow me to order a half order of something. For Breakfast it is always oatmeal. For lunch usually a lean cuisine or a subway mini-sandwich and once a week I'll splurge and get a Braum's sixth lb hamburger, no mayo. Snacks are usually low-fat yogurt, mixed-fruit cup, applesauce, or a Protein bar. So far, I can still eat anything but just not a much and much slower. Finally, exercise does make it better. It does affect you appetite and the general "I can really do this!" feeling.

God Bless!

I just had 4th fill today. Have lost 32lbs in the 5 months since my surgery. This time was too long to go without fill, but Dr. office cancelled me 3 times for various reasons so Im thinking I probably put back on a few lbs. as I was getting really hungry. I now have 8 cc's in 14 cc band. I am hopeful that this one will find my sweet spot and I can get on with losing.

I have been able to eat just about anything. Everyone seems to be different. I am a "sometimes" planner of meals. I have to cook for my daughters, but I try to just eat the Protein portion of a meal I fix for them.

I always try to eat a small amount of cottage cheese or something similar for Snacks... maybe some sug free pudding.

I am definitely still in the learning stages. Good luck

Thanks guys! You're so awesome!! I've started trying to plan my meals a week in advance, and I find that any meat that wont go down with regular chewing I can put in my food chopper and it will go down just fine. Thanks again!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
