500 ? Personality Test ??

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had to take the 500 ? personality test as part of their psych evaluation? I was told it would take about 2 hours and then I meet with the psychiatrist. Goodness what is the deal? They should automatically "pass" you if are dedicated enough to sit for 2 hours taking a test! Any words of advice because I go for the eval tomorrow morning. :mad2:

Simple yes or no questions like "I love my mother", "I want to be a fireman" and my personal favorite "I like to torture small animals". Some of the questions are repeated, some several times. It is very boring but take your time and answer honestly (I was told that they can tell if you did not). There really isn't a pass or fail unless you don't answer honestly or you have some serious psych issues; it just determines personality and other traits about you. After evaluating my test she was able to describe my personality quite accurately and also determine that I have an addictive personality. I was also scheduled for two hours but it actually took closer to one hour.

Yeah there is no pass or fail. After 3 hours it told them I am impatient and give up when things dont happen as fast as I like them to. Way off base!!!

Yes, I had to take it too. However, they were kind enough to mail it to me a few weeks before my psych consult so that they already had the results. I think I had to pay $150 for the test too.

Answer honestly!

If memory serves me correct is was acutally 567 questions....

But they are all one sentence yes or no answers....

After that I then got to read more senteces and fill in the missing word and prononce a list of 50 words for the pyschatirst...talk about make me feel dumb

I think the whole appt took me maybe an hour and a half....

Then I was able to go home and tell my DH and close friends that I am "Offically" NOT CRAZY (they think i snowed the Dr)

It will be fine....don't stress about it, good luck on your journey

I had to take a personality test, but it wasn't that long, took me less than a half hour to complete. It had a lot of questions about how good you are at following doctors instructions and addictive behaviors.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
