Fourth Fill, Major restriction

Recommended Posts

I had surgery November 7th, 2008 and have lost 30 pounds. I had first fill 6 weeks after surgery and one every month after. Third fill offered more restriction but when weighing in found that I had actually gained a pound. Not too much of a shock because I drank some high calorie beverages the week before the fill. I had the fill yesterday but I am still unable to hold down liquid. I don't get nauseas but find it just kind of erupts. If this relaxes then it may be just where I need it to be. My question is Should I just wait a couple of more days or so before reporting the issue to my doctor? I don't want to have Fluid taken out if this will pass. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

If you can't get Water down, call your doc asap. You don't want to get dehydrated. He can do a slight unfill....that's WAY better than you ending up in an emergency department later in the week.

Does the Water go down at all? I had my fourth fill to 7.5cc's and was very worried in the beginning that I was too tight but after 3 weeks I have really loosened up and glad I didnt go back for a unfil. I will say though it is very important to be able to hold on to liquids. they MUST be able to go down!!

I appreciate the feedback. I actually went in this morning and the doctor was great. He had put in 1cc and took out 3/10 cc leaving most and that did the trick. This is the most restriction I've felt. On the up side I lost 6 pounds in 2 days while I know some of this will certainly come back even with just drinking liquids but it sure was nice to see after the pound gain. I am exicted and ready to rumble.
