gigim 8 Posted March 10, 2009 I got a fill on March 6th, I was fine, up to and including lunch today. I got home and I had some boiled chicken and it got stuck. and I have vomitted 3 times. The chicken has come up. I had my surgery 9-16-08. This was the first time this has happen. I am worried. Gigi:crying::biggrin::crying: Can anyone else relate to this..... RestlessMonkey 7 Posted March 10, 2009 I'd say that you will need to avoid boiled chicken for a while, if you're sure you chewed well, had small bites, didn't drink with the meal, and so on. Its not uncommon ... you just had a fill. Now that you've vomited your stomach and esophagus are probably irritated and I think most docs recommend just drinking fluids for a day, then back to mushies and soft food, and advance as tolerated. Try the chicken (it is a problem for some) again in a few months!
MissBS 3 Posted March 11, 2009 Oh boy can I relate!!! I was banded just about the same time you were (mine was Sept. 19, 2008). After my last fill (3rd) on December 19th, I have REAL SERIOUS restriction. When you say you vomited.... did you PB (just the chewed up chicken) or was it for reals throwing up (stomach acid, etc.)? I hate to be gross, but just wondering. I cannot eat chicken or turkey if it is just boiled, baked, or grilled. I have tried it on several occasions and PB'd every time... even with tiny bites and chewing, chewing, chewing). Seems to be better (most days) in soup.... but I still have to be careful. Baked fish can do the same thing. My band is very moody and some days I can tolerate things..... next day maybe not. It makes planning, eating, and tracking very challenging!! But, I do love my band. Not sure if this rambling post helps you, but you are not alone. Good luck to you. Becky
