My baby done gone and left me...oh mama!

Once again - thank you all for being so kind and supportive.

You're all far too lovely - along with the fantastic resource of information you get from this forum, its such a great thing to have support where one wouldn't usually receive from local communities (mainly because the people around this place would never admit to the procedure, so I can't seek them out and demand a hug!)

Happy_Girl: <blush - aw stop it!> Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately us Brits don't care for the accent as much as other nationalities seem to. I need to find me an American!

heidib: Uh oh - do you think men will start to notice me a bit more as well...?

WannaBSkinnyB: Thanks - and I am a songwriter (although some people like to say I'm not!) - shameless promotion...Benedict Francis: Music

Melody2006: Hug coming straight back at ya!

JABBA THE MUTT: Brilliant quote! Glad to hear the "quality time" is picking up...rub it in why don't you! (um...wrong turn of phrase there I think...)

aubrie: That's exactly what I am positive about. Although, Rafi (my boy) maybe a few miles further away, I know that I will be able to play football with him this time next year. Being a full time dad and not being able to participate in those kind of things is probably much worse than an active part-timer.

Thanks everyone.

Ben, you have such a great attitude, you're good looking, and witty. You'll have them lined up at your door before you know it.

You're right about the accent and us American's though, it just sounds so adorable.

Good luck to you and keep up with the possitive attitude, it will serve you well.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances, but word to the wise, which I am sure you already are aware of. Communication is key, so you already know that communication was lacking in this relationship. The WLS was one of other reasons why your relationship failed.

Lastly, men have a tendency to jump right back into a relationship without given themselves an opportunity to reflect upon what happened in the last relationship.

Ben, before you go out looking for that American woman, treat yourself right by giving yourself time get over the last relationship and to wrap your head around your WLS journey.

Really, both of events are major life changing activities and you deserve sometime to recover from both.

Best wishes!

Beset of luck to you Ben....

it sounds like you will be a great role model for your son, and that is something he will definetly need!!

It's sad to say, but some people are better apart then togeather, this is a hard journey to make, but I think it would be even harder with an unsupportive spouse.

Now you have time to focus on becoming healthy and being the best dad you can be!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
