snereb27 0 Posted March 10, 2009 My question is for the ladies... has anyone noticed that once they lost their weight that unwanted facial hair also went away or am I just stuck with it forever? I was told that with my PCOS that as I lose weight the level of testosterone that i produce as a woman will lessen and therefore won't have a problem with facial hair. Has anyone noticed this with their weightloss?
YngGram 73 Posted March 10, 2009 Boy do I hope that is true!!! Mine is really crazy, but my daughter has same problem, and she is smaller. Only hope there is that the stress level she is under has her pushing that hair out.
2Legit2Quit 0 Posted March 10, 2009 That's funny because my mom and I were just having that conversation. She's an RN and she was telling me how facial hair goes away when you lose weight. lol I don't know if it's true but my mom tends to know what she's talking about when it comes to body issues. Good luck!
amonroy 0 Posted March 10, 2009 Well I have PCOS and i've lost 70 lbs. I can tell you that the growth has slowed dramatically but I still have it in all the places on my face (chin, cheeks, sideburns, mustache) that I had before. I usually get waxed now about every month from a wonderful lady and my stylist who experiences the same problems so I don't feel so embarrassed going to her. I used to have to wax once a week, then it went to twice a week. I still think I want to look into the laser treatment on my whole face lol!
suzie76 0 Posted March 10, 2009 I actually have been perscribed the pill for facial hair, one called Yasmin which has an anti androgen (anti testosterone) in it and it works well, I skip the breaks because I don't have to have a break as I don't ovulate. It helps!
