Dude! You need to eat more! Add an egg or two to your shakes, you can use the real thing or get the boxes of liquid egg whites at the store. Get some egg drop Soup. Look more through the forums, there are plenty of threads on this subject. I don't know what lortab is, but you need your Vitamins too, try Flintstones chewables. And Iron may help as you may have lost alot of blood in surgery.

Good luck! Hope you feel better real soon!

You had surgery 2 days ago. Please give yourself a chance to recover. sleeping is probably a good thing right now. Take the Lortab as directed, it will help. Make sure you are drinking water...small sips all through the day. Try to drink your Protein Drinks a little at a time. My dr has his patients drink 2 oz of a Protein Drink every hour, with 2 oz of other approved liquids up to every 15 minutes. The goal is to get in about 64 oz of fluids during the day. Keep a bottle of Water with you and sip on it.

You WILL feel better. Just take it easy now, don't push things.

I had surgery Jan 20. I too had a headache; my understanding is that this is very common and related to the anesthesia. Rest when you feel tired. Nausea is common too, so I took chewable Pepto Bismol a couple of times. Also, drink small amounts of liquids frequently throughout the day to stay hydrated. Look at other forum threads to identify full liquids that you haven't tried yet, as you may find them very appealing at this point in your recovery. The following sugar free items are usually allowed... Jello, popsicles, Italian ice, hot chocolate, Carnation Instant Breakfast, and then other liquids like Decaf tea and broths. I always kept a water bottle by my bed at night if I woke up I could take a sip. Special K makes a Protein Water, not sugar free but low cal, that tastes good. You're in the right place for support, just keep searching the forums for more answers. You'll feel so much better soon!

Hang in there!!! I thought the surgery was rougher than I thought it would be. Then 8 days later it all was gone and I was much better. The Protein Shakes and Vitamins should help. Did you get a rx for anti nausea? Good luck and hope you feel better!!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
