moni75 22 Posted March 7, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm new to the site as it was recommended to me from a friend. I had surgery on march 4. So far everything has been great except for the horrible gas pains. I have been walking but the relief is minimal. I look forward to sharing my experience and learning a new way of life as a lapbandster. thanxs.

bandpal 7 Posted March 7, 2009 Hi Moni, Congratulations on taking this big step! Rest up, get plenty of sleep, take some light walks out in the sunshine (hopefully there's plenty of that where you are) and get used to the new you. Follow your doctor's post-op plan to the "T" and use this site for support and lots of wisdom by way of experience. Where are you from? How did you reach the decision to be banded? What was your pre-op experience like? Take care, Bandpal
moni75 22 Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks for the warm welcome. I did alot of research on the lapband process. I was against it at first as alot of people I know went ahead with the surgery. I thought that if I just watch my diet, and exercise that I would return to my "skinny self". No luck. I had to really take a look at my life, my health and I decided enough was enough. I am from New York and work as a registered nurse. I want to be a good example for my family as well as my patients. I am well on my way
