Recommended Posts

Hello ladies and gents, i was just wondering....i dont have the band yet, but its been on my mind if anyone around my age (23) are having issues loosing with the band at a slow pace even with the correct nutrition and atleast 3x's a week 30 minute cardio exercise....i would assume...but not expect that b/c we are still young... we would see atleast a 1lb loss per week....also when did u loose your first 10lbs after the surgery??? To be honest my best friend's wedding is in august....and she is begging me to be in it, but as many of us are or were..i still am extremely self conscious about myself...big arms..big calves...apple shaped girl....and i refuse to be in her wedding looking the way i do...she is soo mad at me..but i told her....that i had been planning the surgery and im aiming to have the surgery in may 2009, if i get a final approval from insurance. im hoping if do get the surgery round may by the time the wedding comes..i will be somewhat in better shape than now.....oh yea also is it true that you loose weight in the areas with the most fat first??? mine seems to be in the gut and inner thighs....thanks for yalls time!

I'm a little over 2 months out and I'm still trying to figure that out. Since surgery I've lost about 14-15 lbs. However, I struggled with sweets for a while and have recently cut them out totally. Since then, along with a pretty good amount of restriction, I've lost 5 lbs in one week. It's hard to say if that will continue (I work out 1 hour, at least 3 times a week), but if I stick to 1200 cals a day I should lose at least 2-3 lbs a week. My overall goal is 10 lbs a month.

I'm in my roommate's wedding in October, so I totally understand how you feel about that! I'd LOVE to be under 200 by then, but we'll see.

Hey! Welcome to the site

I was banded about 2 months ago and with my pre op and post op I've lost a total of 23 lbs. I'm stalling now for some reason, but I've only had 1 fill and haven't hit my 'sweet spot' yet.

Good luck on your journey!

I was on a low cal diet and wasn't really losing anything (I mean low - sometimes 500-600). Then I increased my calorie intake but went on a low carb diet and the weight has been flying off this last week - 6.6lbs, I also started exercising 30 mins a day at the same time so that has helped too. Although I have been feeling run down with headaches so that's a minus.

ahb08 - I hope you reach your goal with or without the band. I knew I needed help and I didn't want to run the risk of working hard to lose it simply to gain it back.

Good luck!

I was banded Jan 16th and have lost 23lbs since. My weight loss stalled since my first fill which was about 4 weeks ago. I just had my second fill a little over a week ago but still haven't lost anything. I am sure its because I am only exercising once a week and not drinking enough Water. When I stopped drinking Water constantly all day, my weight loss stopped. I need to get back on track.

I have 3.6ccs in my band, and only have restriction in the morning. I am going to wait another 2 weeks or so before I go in for another fill.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
