This is off the subject so I hope you don't mind me asking.. I am pre lap band and wanting to know how much weight have you lost? Have you had any other issues with yuor band? Do you still at this point get fills? How many fills total have you had and last but not least Any thoughts regrets since you've been banded? Thanks for sharing

If this is a recent development and you haven't just gotten a fill, you need to see your doctor.

Lap bandgirl2009, I have lost 60 pounds total still need to lose 50 more pounds. I now weigh 225 and feel better so I am glad I had the surgery. In October 2008 I had to

have my Gall Bladder removed because of no function which they told me is common after weight loss surgery

and it has been since the gall bladder surgery that I started with the meat and bread not going down. My

doctor remove 1/2 of the Water in the band yesterday and tonight was the first time in 6 month that I was

able to keep my dinner down. I hope it last. I have another appointment in 4 weeks to see it the problem

corrects itself. If not he said he will scope my stomach.

So, I guess what I am saying to you is that I think if I

had to do it all over again I would. So Good luck to you

I hope all will go well. Nancy

It sounds like the gallbladder surgery irritated you stomach and made it swell. My hysterectomy did the same thing to me. Then, not being able to keep your dinner down was perpetuating the problem, so the swelling never went down. I am glad you had the partial unfill done. That will help you and after a month you can start slowly with your fills again. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
