Considering breast reduction- advice?

Recommended Posts

soul love some advice or info from anyone who has done this. I am considering getting a reduction to hopefully a 36/38 DD so i can workout better (maybe even run!) and fit into clothing better. However, I am worried about losing sensation. This is probably TMI but my girls are definitly one of THE zones for me and I am afraid I would lose sensation and not be able to fully enjoy hanky panky again.

Best thing I have ever done. Except for the band of course. Mine were size F. I just wish I waited til after the band. But didn't know i was doing the band. Mine were so large I didn't have much sensation. Now they are extremely sensitive and I love them! I had a reduction and a lift and so far they r still up there! Very painful but worth it!!

And I'm still a DD. The dr left me with plenty in case of weight loss...she thought ahead thankfully.

I second that it was one of the best things Ive ever done. I also had a tt. At the time I needed it so badly. I had over half taken - was a large D after surgery. It is amazing. I actually had the opposite effect....I am super sensitive now - I get nippolitis all the time lol.

I actually now want implants. I had the reduction - something like 7 years ago....now after my kids and losing weight etc and an extra few years, I dont like the shape or location...I want them firmer, rounder and higher and I am going to get it. I actually dont want them bigger though - I go for a consult in April to see what they suggest.

Get the reduction - you wont regret it!!

Unfortunately I had a benelli lift 10 years ago & following a nightmare of areola reduction, brutal scars & loss of sensation, I would NOT do it again.

I wish you the very best in your choice.

I had a reduction when I weighed 250 pounds. I went from an H and I (they were differently sized) to a D.

My nipples still had sensation but the outward parts, near my underarms were always numb.

I did it for the ability to better exercise. It was a good choice, but painful. Plastic surgery hurts. Really.

I wanted one, I had E cup breasts - which werent SO huge on my frame, but I hated them. Then I lost weight and have C's. For me weight loss accomplished what an expensive surgery would have anyway. But I still need the lift so who knows?

I'm very curious about this also. I started with 44 G's pre-band and now at 42 F. Have any of you been a self pay? If so can you let me know what the cost is?

I too am ultra-sensitive now--they were so big before they "did nothing for me"... Now I love them!!! :sneaky: I just hope they stay up when I lose more weight...

Mine was covered by insurance so I don't know what mine cost. But a friend of mine had a Tummy Tuck and a breast reduction/lift and for both it cost her $12,000 total (in Virginia).

It's been almost 5 years since I had mine and I'm still thankful every day that I did it. Yep, it hurt, but still worth it.

I don't have problems with sensation, but my understanding is if they have to detach the nipple you have a high probability of losing sensation and you definitely won't be able to nurse. My doc didn't know if that would be the case until he got me into the OR, so I had to decide if I would be OK with that risk. Luckily, it didn't go that way for me.

I've never been one to lose weight in my breasts, so weight loss was not an option to cure the back/neck strain I had. I've lost 87 pounds now with the lapband and have only lost band size in my bras, not cup. And so far they're staying up where they should.

One piece of advice - don't let just any plastic surgeon do this. You need someone who has done a LOT of these. My mom used to work in the OR and watched so many women disfigured during reductions because their surgeon didn't think about the cosmetic part of things while reducing. You want minimal scarring, straight incisions and great stitch work.

I totally agree. Make sure you pick the right surgeon. My dr. is the head of plastic surgery at Washington Hospital Center. I checked her out and looked at her results. She's been in ps magazines... I had to have my nipples completely removed and I still have no problems with sensation. And...she thought ahead--she said she had done a reduction and lift and the person lost 100 pounds and she then had to turn around and do implants. She made sure she left me with enough to "lose" if I lost 100 pounds! Although I've lost about 25 pounds -- none of that has been in the boobs! Now--I'm hoping that the lift portion stays!!!

This was without a doubt the most painful thing I have ever experienced, but would do it again in a heartbeat! Mine too were VERY uneven. Actual breast size and nipple size. Now I feel like they are perfect--

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
