Hello all. I've been looking at my list of things that i can have to eat 3-4 weeks after my procedure and i'm at the puree part. I really dont see myself putting chicken and in a blender. Can't i just buy baby food?

My doctor said we could have baby food but man it was nasty. not really nasty tasting the texture was horrible. it was real gritty.

For real the baby chicken is very gritty. Just bone some chicken out or get a good can of canned chicken splash or two of chicken broth/stock and whiz that baby up.. Good eats.. Your going to be so restricted so treat yourself the best you can !!

Hello!

How about cottage cheese, scrambled egg with cottage cheese instead of milk (very yummy!). Try stewing some chicken in chicken broth, add some diced carrots, garlic and onion, like a stew. Brown some ground beef and add broth. Lentel Soup, split pea Soup. Stoneyfield vanilla yogurt with fresh pureed fruit. Baked apples or pears. Vegetable soup with slices of tofu. Eggdrop soup. Crockpot some meat and veggies until tender.

Does this help at all?

My favorite thing after surgery was chicken cooked with bullion and yolk free noodles blended up in my Magic Bullit. I loved it. It tasted the same just blended up. I still had the satisfaction and taste of "comfort food".

Another thing I used to eat was ricotta cheese with a little bit of sauce and mozzarella cheese melted on top. Sometimes I still eat that.

Get creative! Good luck...believe me, you will make it through!

I am almost 10 days post op surgery. I have been on the full liquid diet since surgery. I am so tired and weak and my stomach is not liking the Protein Shakes I drink. I try to drink at least 2 of them a day, then have broth, Soup, yogurt or something like that. My doctor said I am not getting enough nutrients and to boost my diet with more Protein Drinks. I am lactose intolerance though and I think that is why I don't tolerate the Protein drinks. Most of them are milk based. Anyone know of a good Protein Drink that is not milk based? My doctor told me I can start on mushy food this weekend, any suggestions on what to have? This transition period is hard. I know we are healing the body right now, so we have to be careful and not rush the food intake. Any suggestions? Love to hear them!

Thanks!
