Lisa*in*NJ 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I don't know if this is a stupid question or not but here it goes. Does everyone have stitches that need to be removed? I have read of some people going to have their stitches out, but others have never mentioned it. just wondering
Barb 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Lisa, I have stitches but I do not have them removed. So no, not everyone has stitches that need to be removed.
loopylou 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I have disolvable ones - just the tail end sticks out - it gets a bit itchy as it heals, but they are mostly gone now.

Parvathi 2 Posted August 18, 2005 I had the disolvable ones, w/ the ends sticking out, but it took several weeks (about 5, cause they were still there when I got my first fill) before they went away altogether.

Carrie Daniels 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I also had the super glue.....it was great. You can bathe right away and within a week, lots of the glue had peeled off.
HotLikeMe 0 Posted August 18, 2005 My glue is gone and most of my scabs are gone too - but, I have a piece of what looks like fishing line (appx 1/4 inch) sticking out of the end of my largest scar. Is this a dissolvable stitch? If so, how long does it take to dissolve? Parvathi - is that what yours looked like?
TraumaNurse 1 Posted August 18, 2005 I had steri-strips on all 5 of my incisions.

nickie456 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I had glue and steri-strips, my surgery was 10 days ago, all the steri-strips have came off except on the port.
Zoe 6 Posted August 18, 2005 Steri-strips for me. As you can see, each doctor is different, and some doctors may use different closing methods for different patients. Ask your doctor to see what he/she has in mind.
burnsun 27 Posted August 19, 2005 GLUE! And I loved it! My scars look as small as little mosquito bites and even my port scar is hardley visible unless you get into "partner" range
