Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted March 8, 2009 I was on liquid for 4 weeks. It got easier for me as time went on, but I was careful not to be around people who were eating. Find out from your doctor exactly what you can have. I was told I could have anything blended so there were no chunks in it. I had different Soups at dinner time and blended the heck out of them. It was important to have variety and not the same thing over and over. I could also have egg drop Soup from the Chinese places and those made it more tolerable. Some places do put peas or other stuff in there, so I spit that out. I could also have sf popsicles which I had every evening.
spud.mama 7 Posted March 8, 2009 Do you guys remember your first bra?? Ya know how you couldn't wait to get boobs to fill it out so you stuffed it?? (Except me, I went strait to the real thing!) So this topic of being sick of liquids reminds me of the first bras. LOL  Do you also remember when you couldn't wait to start the liquid diet cuz that meant you were about to start a new life?? I guess the NOVELTY of it has worn off. LOL  So I don't get banded until the end of May/beginning of June and I can't wait to be on the liquid diet!! I am very happy to know that my doc only requires 2 or 3 days of it before unless you have not dropped the weight he wants (for me only 13 lbs). But I am happy to read your posts to be aware of the dreaded post-op liquid diet.< /p>

Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted March 9, 2009 There are actually some good recipes on this site in the food section for different things people can have while on the liquid stage.
brittu 42 Posted March 9, 2009 What frustrates me most about liquids (I'm on two weeks for stomach swelling) is that I don't lose weight. Grrr. Britt
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted March 9, 2009 That would be annoying. I lost 22 lbs while on my post op liquid diet. Then I lost nothing after that for 4 months.
tif4evr26 0 Posted March 11, 2009 I tried the refried Beans as well with low fat cheese. I felt like I was dinning on fine cuisine compared to the cream Soups. Mind you I never liked them before. I go to my transition class on Monday. This is required before you move on to regular foods.
