Any personal blogs about your LB Journey?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone is blogging about your lap-band experience(s)? I've started one as a way to fill in my family on what's happening without having to answer the same question 18 times... it is http://losingweightgainingtons.blogspot.com.

If you have one and are willing to share it, I'd love to take a look! I've found that these personal stories are so helpful as I'm going down this path... I was banded on the 20th, and thank god for a few other blogs answering a bunch of questions beforehand!

Thanks,

Sure! I love to blog..course I love to talk...so what's the difference? I havent shared the blog with my family though...just in case I want to vent about them in the future!

But its a good way to share with other people who are going through the same thing as me. I have "met" some great people that way.

My blog address is in my signature!:)

Yours is actually one of the ones I follow on a regular basis!!! Thanks! It is a great tool - definitely eased some of my fears leading into my surgery.

Keep up the good work! You've inspired me a good deal.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
