Recommended Posts

Hi all

This is my first post, I have having my band fitted on 4th April 2009 Dolan Park, Bromsgrove, UK.

Is there a quick way of looking on this site if anyone else is having their op on the same day at the same place?

Cheers

Welcome to LapBandTalk!

There is a section for all people being banded in April and there is a section for all people from the UK. If you post something in both those sections, you should find a band buddy.

Hi there

Thank you for your reply!

Can you point me in the right directtion as I have no idea how to find the right section???

Also, is this site any connection to Minimins.com as it looks very familiar?

Looking forward to hearing from you shortly.

Cheers

Im from Scotland, you?

Im feeling good, I was very sore for the first few days, but it's to be expected!! im loving my band, lol, im still on post-op liquids just now, and admit its tough, because i really want to chew something, lol, but i just keep thinking of the weight loss and it keeps my going!!

Lisa was my co-ordinator, cant rememper off the top of my head my surgeon, i ended up not having the surgoen do the op that was supposed to, only due to me having to stay an extra night and get my op the day after i was supposed to.

Hi

Oh, you couldnt be any further away from me! I am Leicestershire in the Midlands. What made you come all the way here?

Hey, someone mentioned that I can check who else is having their op on 4th April somewhere on this site, can you point me the right direction, as I would love to find some more people having their op on the same day?

Cheers

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
