I'm looking forward to my 21-yr-old son's surprise at how good his mom looks when I pick him up at LAX, September 3. He's spent last year at the U of Dublin & has been traipsing around Europe all summer so he hasn't seen me for awhile.

Okay, I think I have a few. I am looking forward to:

getting a Tummy Tuck so I, too, can see the vagina that's down there somewhere and so I can see to shave my bikini area when I put on a real bathing suit, not one with shorts attached!

being able to do a handstand against the wall in my living room. There's a perfect spot, right there, just begging to be leaned up against. I actually tried it last night but can't get my big butt up enough to heave my legs, ug, grunt, moan, OH! the pain in my wrists!!!! so I'm looking forward to having less weight and enough strength to be able to do that. Not gymnastics, not even a cartwheel, just a handstand against the wall is all I ask!!

I also would like men to 'flirt' with me, instead of my girlfriends; and my husband's reaction to same!

I'm looking forward to feeling good about myself again, fitting into my clothes without them pinching me back and getting control of eating!

Having a slimmer face and looking (older) more my age

I've been thinking about this. Why do you want to look older? One of the things I have seen over and over and over from the before and after pix is that when people get closer to their goal they look younger and younger. It is as if Fat ages the face. I'm sure it ages the body, all the extra stress...

Gosh...there are so many things I want to do. I want to start roller skating again. The last time I went, I was so afraid I was going to fall and hurt myself..or worse yet, hurt one of my kids or someone else's that I just didn't have a good time.

Wear a killer little red dress with some red stillettos that I am saving for just such a situation.

Shave my bikini area without having to use 3 different mirrors angled just the right way. God if anybody was to see me doing that...the embarrassment would make me just melt down the drain. (I will apologize in advance for any nausea that might result from this mental picture. ) lol

The cessation of all that rubbing and chafing.

I will morn the loss of my DDs, but will console myself with a pretty, dainty bra from Victoria's. Don't worry I will give a little toot of my horn to Lane Bryants as I pass. Yes, those sale's ladies will be crying in their hankies at the loss of income. Go ahead and cry, I won't be back...lol. ;-)

Weighing less than my DH.

Weighing less than my dog...lol..ok..ok..I just threw that in just to see if you were still paying attention. The dog is steady at 80 pounds...that is not where I will end up.

There are just too many to list!!!

I think what I am looking foward to most is.. being able to see my reflection in a passing mirror or window and nodd in acceptance of how I look versus trying to adjust my clothes to better disguise my body.

One thing that I am looking forward to, is being able to swing my golf clubs like a golfer! Not a caveman! There are MANY more things to look forward to, but this is what comes to mind right now because I'm Jonesin' to play some golf. I haven't played in over a month because of surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
