Hi all,

My name is Carmen and will be having my surgery on March 13th. Yes, I know it is Friday the 13th:crying: (lol!!!), but I think this will be one of my most luckest days.

I do have two questions although.

1) Do you have any tips on what I should stock up at home for post op? Things you have found helpful.

2) Because of my weight I developed a hormone imbalance and due to the imbalance I strated to have some facial hair. I'm so embarassed about it, as i now have to shave it. Like a man. Its not a full beard or anything. The question is has anyone else had this problem and did it go away with weight loss?

I too have facial hair. It does not go away with weight loss. I go to an electrolysis and have it removed. I waited to long before I went to have it taken care of. It has been over 2 years and I am still going every 3 weeks.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
