BillOh 13 Posted February 28, 2009 Ok, just kidding, I've spent months thinking about the title I would put on today's message when it finally came. Do any of you have a Nintendo WII and the WII fit? Its pretty interesting and a lot of fun. It seems like a very accurate scale and has some neat features. Every day, it weighs you and calculates your BMI and tracks your progress over months. While its measuring it has a little avatar that represents you. As soon as it calculates your data, the character balloons up and a tiny computer voice says, "Thats obese!" At least that is what it said until today. I got up and weighed myself and today is the day I've been waiting almost 3 months for. I'm no longer obese, I'm officially overweight. I had been obese, I believe, for 12 years. This has been one big milestone I've been waiting for. I've got two more. At 225, I plan on calling my sleep doctor. sleep apnea was the main reason I chose to have this surgery. My wife says I don't snore anymore and I breath deeper at night. I'm going to call the sleep doc and get retested and hopefully say good bye to him forever. My last milestone will be the 200 barrier! Maybe before my 50th birthday in June. bigpapa2 0 Posted February 28, 2009 Ok I just got the wii fit and it is weighing me in about 30 lbs lighter than what I really am. I am not sure why that is, infact it is showing everyone in my family at the wrong weight. Have you had that problem with your before?

gonnaloseitall 0 Posted March 1, 2009 I LOVE WII FIT! I have lost 5 lbs since I bought it a week ago! It is so much fun. I'm addicted. I tell everyone I know they have to buy one. The band is a tool, and I think the next most useful tool is the Wii Fit! BigPapa2 - Mine is weighing be pretty accurately. I would check to see if there is a way to calibrate it. BillOh 13 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Ok I just got the wii fit and it is weighing me in about 30 lbs lighter than what I really am. I am not sure why that is, infact it is showing everyone in my family at the wrong weight. Have you had that problem with your before? Your probably on carpet. Put a sturdy board under it. After that I found it to be very accurate. We actually bought a 2'x2' wooden floor tile at home depot to put under it and it helped a lot. julia19642 0 Posted March 1, 2009 Wii fit DID inaccurately weigh me also until I put the board underneath it. Carpeting will not make it weigh correctly. That being said. Mine has 2kg of dust on it at the moment. Guess I'll have to wipe that off before i embark on this weight loss adventure.
AngelWhisper 0 Posted March 1, 2009 It comes with little extender things for the board also if you're on carpet. It weighs me fine if I use those on it on carpet.
Jennyt71 0 Posted March 1, 2009 I love my Wii Fit! Mine still says obese every morning, but the BMI is going down! I can do about 45min a day on it now - doing the aerobics mainly but a few yoga and strength exercises. The balance ones just frustrate me. LOL Mine is on hardwood flooring - it is very accurate in weighing me. I wish they would come out with a Fit 2 game or something - gets old doing the same step/boxing/yoga routines everyday. Just my 2 cents.

There is another one that I heard was popular so I bought it and now I have to use it. It's called Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009. There's paint Grenade toss, cannon attack, handcar pump, tire trail, rowing, monkey bars, log jump, log walk, boxing, punching bag dodge, and running. All of these can be customized by you. I purchased mine from Best Buy.

I'll have to wait untilI lose a bit more and dont jiggle so much.

luigismama 0 Posted March 2, 2009 I use my friends' Wii Fit, and it's been SO much fun. My husband heard me talk about it so much he asked if I wanted one for my birthday next month. I LOVE the balance games and the hula hooping. I haven't tried the aerobics, but I thought the yoga was very interesting because it forces you to really balance between the two feet which you can't necessarily feel on your own. I just got Jillian Michaels's workout DVD and haven't tried it yet since our DVD player just broke  Cross your fingers that I get one for my birthday! And the weight was dead-on. I am now obese and halfway between morbidly obese and overweight- woo hoo!
IWannaBeSkinny 0 Posted March 2, 2009 YAY! I need to start back on mine...my BMI has went down a few numbers since the last time I was on

I'm going to call the sleep doc and get retested and hopefully say good bye to him forever. Goal #2 of the week met. Today I call my sleep doctor and I'm going to tell him I want the overnight test where I wear the oxygen meter on my finger tip. When I first had that test, my 02 level dipped to 79. When I was in the hospital overnight after surgery it never dipped below 94, That was almost 30 pounds ago. Wish me luck, I plan on dropping out of the sleep apnea group on web-md soon.
