So, I've been in bandster hell since the beginning of January. I can pretty much eat anything that I want. I was doing fine the first few weeks, but I have been stressed lately and have been using that as an excuse to eat whatever I want. I'm not eating as much as I used to and haven't gained any weight, but haven't lost any either. I think that my main saving grace is that I work out a lot. I can't get my third fill until March 6 as I can only get them every 6 weeks and due to the doc's schedule and my vacation that is the only time I can go. So, I feel like I am stuck until then. I have even been avoiding the boards and writing down what I eat. I know that I do this when I feel like I have failed at my diet and don't want to think about it. So, I'm taking the first step to get back on track, writing on here. I am also going to start writing down everything that I eat and go from there. I don't want not being restricted to be my excuse for a free for all. I just wanted to post my little confession... Thanks for listening!

Here's what helps me: Don't buy junk. If it's around, I'll eat it, so I just don't buy it. When I get hungry for something sweet, and go to the pantry or fridge and see that there is only a granola bar or an apple....I usually just don't have anything at all.

You will do just great, I know it! And don't stress out ;o) It will make yer blood pressure rise :))

I hear ya! I was banded in December and have not noticed any restriction at all. I have had two fills but my doctor says he goes slow so I only have 3cc in a 10cc band. I have lost 30 pounds but am eating way to much in my opinion (not to mention all the wrong foods). The only thing holding me back from eating like I used to is the fear of PBing. I have never done it but from what I have read on the boards it is not pleasant. I have an appointment with a nutrionist tomorrow so hopefully she will get me back on track.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
