Sorry you're having these problems. I had an incident a few months ago where all of a sudden I couldn't keep ANYTHING down. It was awful. Did the upper GI/endo and it showed a slight slip. My doc took out a half cc and I was totally fine. The slip resolved itself and I've had no problems since. I hope this is the case for you too!!

Hugs!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

I saw my surgeon today. He looked at the upper GI x-rays and said he didn't see a slip. One side of the pouch is not shaped quite as nicely as he wanted but he said it looked ok. He thought it looked like the band was too tight. He is going to take out 2cc's on Thursday and see how it goes. He seemed to think that would fix the problem. I am so relieved. I had all kinds of fears going through my mind.

I tried to talk him into taking it out today but he will only do fills and unfills under flouroscope so I have to go back Thursday morning. I guess that is a small price to pay. :)

I'm so glad to hear there was no slip! That is great! I"m sure your little unfill will help -- at least I hope so! (((((huggs)))))

I got 2 cc's out on Thursday. I can eat again. I ate an egg mcmuffin (without the top bun) on Friday and was comfortably full but not overfilled like I would have been without the unfill. I think it did the trick. It is really good to be able to eat again.

Yes indeed, having a slight unfill can make things so much better, can't it??

It's been 7 weeks since my slight unfill, but now my appetite is coming back with a vengence! But, I am resisting - afterall, I am supposed to do the work with the bands help, so I need to work at it, and not give in the to the urge to fill-er-up immediately!

Glad to hear you are doing well! You know, alot can be said for those slight unfills. I still battle with the idea. However, my band has been loosening up some of late, so I might just wait it out to see what happens.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
