Way to go!!!!

In regards to the diary thing..

I think so. I had made it to a comfortable wt when I was in my early 20's and did the diary tracking - boy did it help.

I would honestly believe I had barely eat'n anything and yet was already pass my caloric intack. Or better yet, my brain would like purposely forget that I did eat half a donut etc. and so since I 'forgot' I wouldn't count it..

Journaling is what keeps me honest. I really didn't realize just how much I ate prior to banding. I ate at least twice what I do now and I consistently eat 1200-1500 per day. I find it easiest to use an online site. I use fitday.com, but many people prefer dailyplate.com. There are a lot of sites. Look around and find one that works for you. Good luck!

I don't journal anymore unless my weight stops moving in the right direction. At that point I start for a period of 2 weeks which is usually enough to get me back on track.

Life is too short and busy for me to journal every day but I do watch my weight closely. I think weighing in either daily or maybe weekly will help give you a warning sign to get back on track if you start gaining.

i have gone back & forth between journaling & not journaling the last 2 months. right now, i'm back journaling because i think i do eat more when not - i'm sure it's mental, but since it worked in the past....i'll keep doing it.

as far as weighing....i do it wkly.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
