phil we might as well use humor to deal with the situation. Logic and knowledge doesn't seem to enter the minds of the right wing fanatics. They're too hell-bent (yes, hell-bent) on being obtuse and ugly. Hell-bent, first cousin of the Bent-ley. Har. Lame I know, but anyway, whatever...

I heard a phrase today that resonated with this whole teabagger thing. "When people show you who they are, believe them." I say.. the teabaggers showed us who they really were on the House steps and halls by calling out names and slurs,...and now I believe them. I have lost even more respect for that cult.

patty: "No they wont. They'll be blaming thier folks for allowing the government to have such control of their lives and blaming them for the tremendous debt that they had to inherit. Just like we blame all of those in the past for the sham called Social security and the bill we have to keep paying and all the other government programs that are in bankruptcy."

Ha, ha, ha, patty you crack me up. You silly, silly girl.

Watch out BJean, The "Moderator" may be notified by PG that you broke the (rules) by character insults ae: (silly). I would never characterize her as silly. I`m sure if she has parents or grandparents, they too have refused their Social Security and Medicare benefits as well! Silly, absolutely not, Pathetic is more like it. Like Brittany Spears says....."Oops, I did it again"!

Exactly. This underscores what I have been saying about the teabaggers all along. They are a white, racist, middle class group that hates Pres. Obama. They didn't vote for him and are angry that he won. Yeah, the old white man is no longer in the White House. A person of color is. And the fact that he is a democrat and a progressive/liberal just makes it worse for them. And they hate, hate, hate that.

So, they try to use "legitimate" outlets for this hate: the deficit, spending, healthcare, government programs. As if none of these things existed before Pres. Obama was elected.

The basis of their movement is their hatred of Pres. Obama. From the birthers to the deathers, to those who throw money at a man with Parkinson's, hold up a sign with the N word, hurl racial and anti-gay slurs at our elected representatives and who spit on them. This is the tea party. It is not just a few extremists. They are all extremist.

They try to say they aren't republicans. But they are. They have many of their offices in GOP headquarters. And the republicans embrace them, too.

The government is bankrupt?

I said "all the other government programs that are bankrupt". You can't deny that the government is in financial ruin, can you? Isn't our federal debt more than $40,000. per every man, woman and child in this country?Well, by contrast, I guess that means that private industry is doing just fine. Oh wait, they aren't. GM, Chrysler, Lehman Brothers, AIG, Bear Stearns, Countrywide, etc.. Didn't they go bankrupt playing russian roulette with our money? Hmmm. How can that be if the government is the problem?

It wasn't our government that got us into the economic disaster that we faced in the fall 2008, it was corporate america.

Eleven scariest words in the English language: I am a wall street bank and I want your money.

The way you talk, I would think that you HATE white people. This would make you a 'racist'. I am not officially in the tea party, but I stand in agreement with them on things. It has nothing to do with Obama's skin color, though. He is a black AND white man. This country voted him as president, didn't they? That's the last said from me on this subject. If you feel that the people oppose his presidency because of his skin color, then that's your problem to deal with. Others know the truth for their opposition.

I certainly don't hate white people but I am embarrassed by white racists who are well represented in this tea party movement. And somehow I doubt it's the last said from you on this subject. If only that were true.

SS does not adequately support the retired people. And both programs can not be afforded. They are both bankrupt. What good is a program that has no funds to continue? It's just another financial drain on society and another step closer to national ruin.

Cleo`s Mom, I`ve been carping on the same subject matter on and off this blog for months. These "Patriots" might just as well slip on their KKK (sheets) or their Nazi (brown shirts) and start (goose stepping). They always bring ideological matters up as a pretense to their protest, but their under belly shrieks of racial hatred. The Democrats and Liberals are going to take away their Guns. Obama has NEVER mentioned a word about any agenda to change gun ownership law yet there has been a (run) on ammunition purchases since he came to office. Next up, their favorite, Abortion or Pro-Choice, which by the way was supposed to have been settled years ago with Roe vs Wade. Don`t want an Abortion... don`t have one! The same Old Men that refused a Women`s right to vote want to control their reproductive rights as well. Its a riot, its always a bunch of ole white corroded broken down men that suffer (erectile dysfunction) and eat Viagra and Cialis tablets like M & M`s with no positive results and still can`t get it up, want to control a women`s right to make (her) decision. Until a male can get pregnant, regardless of what side of this issue your on, its a women`s issue..period! And like I`ve stated before, look at the makeup of those that attend the Pro-Life Rally`s. Almost All White protesters. Because of a long waiting list for (white baby`s), just ask Supreme Court Justice Robert`s, these Pro-Life protesters what to assure that every white fetus is delivered to allow an opportunity to a couple that is childless and waiting patiently for their turn in line. There is not shortage of available Latino or Black babies waiting to be adopted,....go figure?

First of all, I am not your dear. Secondly, when someone or some group is racist, I call it like I see it.

When a group holds up signs with the N word, calls black representatives racial slurs and spits on them, then I accurately call them racists.

And BTW, I knew it wasn't your last word on the subject.

phil, cleo's and Leisha, all making excellent points, as usual.

Of course the tea baggers aren't actually bringing up the race card when they do all they can to insult the president and his administration. If they did, they would be seen for what they really are and they can't have that, now can they.

Right wing extremists have been a part of America since day one. They've really come out of the woodwork and become even more militant and obnoxious since the Fox network and others have encouraged the kind of thinking that they possess. Now they are even more dangerous and have recruited people who might normally just quietly wait out their opportunity to vote. People like that seem to feel there's safety in numbers. The more they recruit and the more garbage that Limbaugh, Beck and others spew, the stronger they feel they are.

I, for one, am sick of it. And I hope that they remember that they aren't the only ones who have a right to bear arms. Because if anything happens to the president, at their hands, Americans are not going to put up with it.

Didn't limbaugh say he was moving to Costa Rica if healthcare passed? What's keeping him? Let's start an online campaign to wish him good-bye. And good riddance.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
