Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

Recommended Posts

Kartman and BJean: I agree with you both. I think one of the biggest mistakes Obama made was to continue to try to get bipartisan support for his agenda. It should have become very obvious very soon after his inauguration that the republicans had no intention of helping to solve this country's problems.

The republicans have one goal: stand in the way of and oppose everything Obama wants in the hopes that he fails so that we can get more republicans elected and push their "party of no" agenda.

I agree that he should be tougher in his methods for pushing his agenda. This healthcare should have been passed in August with a public option, but he let the dumbasses in the senate (Baucus) let it go until after the recess and we know what happened then.

He needs to push a jobs bill (which by the way NO republicans voted for) and work on unemployment and screw the republicans. Do everything with reconciliation. That's what the republicans used. That's how they passed the big tax cut for the rich. And did you hear any public outcry about THAT? Of course not.

Democrats need to act procedurally like the republicans.

Forget yes we can, forget change. New motto: Just do it.

The republicans didn't keep the health care bill from passing. The democrats didn't even need the republicans. They had enough seats to pass their HC plan. The democrats are the ones who voted against it. So, blame your own party! I'm just glad that some of your party had a brain to see the terrible future ruin that this plan invited.

We don't have 60 democrats in the Senate. We have 58 and Lieberman who votes like a republican and Ben Nelson also. Plus a few others. They are called DINOs (democrats in name only) and they should just switch parties.

But it isn't just the healthcare that the republicans have blocked. It is everything. Only 3 republicans in the senate have voted for ANY of the agenda coming from Obama.

But I can't wait to see the republican votes on the following:

1) financial reform for wall street (the pals $$ of the republicans)

2) tax on big banks who were bailed out to PAY BACK THE TAXPAYER MONEY. (and no they can't pass this tax on to us)

3) jobs bill (paid for by repaid bailout money).

Let's get C-Span to televise THESE votes. Put it on pay tv - I would pay to see it.

It needs to be on every channel. The American people deserve to see what they've elected in action.

I`m a die hard life long liberal socialist democrat that supported Hillary but voted for Obama. The obstructionist Republicans not with standing blocking everything that he has attempted to push through (as well as his weak kneed Democrat) followers, Obama is a dismal failure 1 term President. But, what choice did we have in 2008? McCain/Palin? PLEASE....! We need a viable 3rd Party in this country. Rep and Dems are pretty much sleeping with each other and don`t give a damn about the remaining "middle class". Be careful what you wish for.....maybe you`ll get Sarah and Glenn Beck for VP in 2012 and really start the next Civil War between Red States and Blue States. I hate Teabaggers...phony racist bible thumping uneducated fools that are talking loud and saying nothing!

And as a post script to those who also fear the Public Option and Socialized Medicine, I have a great idea that contains NO Death Panels either! Have all the Reps and Dems who don`t want universal health care coverage be eliminated immediately from the Federal Employee Health Benefit Program and forfeit their own Health Insurance. Any of these Politicians refuse their own Social Security or Medicare benefits when they become eligible. Its Socialism, why accept it? Unless your a two faced liar.

You have already succeeded in getting one thread shut down with your disrespectful name calling. What do you want to do, close every thread you post on? What's the matter with you? Are you unable to be civil? Or do you just feel lot's of strength within yourself to post boldly and disrespectfully because noone can see you and actually hold you accountable for your words?

patty, let's not go there. Afterall you're the one who kept repeating the hate word, ad nauseum.

phil it would be great if we were able to get the rules changed and have a viable 3 party or more system. The problem with some of the other parties that are trying to get rheir candidates on ballots is that they're mostly run by crackpots.

and btw patty, phil was not talking about one person here at LBT, he was speaking in more general terms which is, I believe, allowed at Rants and Raves.

BJean, Thank you for attempting to defend my freedom of speech, and rather then get (banned or suspended) because my comments are a bit too biting for "some" thin skinned individuals, I will engage in sensitivity counseling to overcome my caustic remarks. I`m sure you`all "pray for me".

phil you continue to crack me up. Don't count on me saving you with my prayers though. Afraid it wouldn't do you a bit of good. Besides, I enjoy your humor and irreverance.

Do you want me to also find you a sticker that says "Senator Brown put on your pants!"

I don't have any more room for bumper stickers on my car. I have the Obama/Biden one, the Dem one, the healthcare one and my personal favorite:

A picture of a skull and crossbone with the words:

Insurance CEO's get the treasure, the patients get buried.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
