Trying not to be bitter with post op complications.

I won't write my snore (zzzzZ) story here about my post op complications with my band and stomach problems, you can read about it in my previous posts for three months, it's all I really talked about and I have to pull myself out of that place and not let it take over my life.

I still believe in the lap band, just wish I knew what weird ass thing is going on with me, but I need to not be bitter.

I just need to post this to be ACCOUNTABLE for my mental state. I am BITTER. I am bitter that this hasn't worked out like some others where they feel great. I am bitter that I follow the rules and others don't and I'M the one with the problems. I am mad at myself and my lapband...and guilty. For nothing I can control. I'm pissed I feel so sick somedays I can't exercise when my mind wants to, and my doctor gave me 'tough love' for not exercising more like it's my fault.

I needed to vent this. I'm bitter and I'm pissed and I'm guilty and I'm remorseful. I am trying very hard and will continue to until I must remove this band if it continues to cause problems. I am SO HAPPY for others that this is not a common thing, but I am BITTER it's happening to me.

I needed to vent, and I didn't want to get insults thrown back so I came to this board, hoping to find some people who understand, are ya'll out there :tt2: ??

Don't know your story but sorry it ended up not working out for you, did you chew your food and exercise, it's only a tool you know, jk! I had mine removed last October after 14 months trying to get it to work and figured out it in the end it was just not the right procedure for me. It can be very emotionally taxing on you to go through such a dramatic experience so make sure you realize that it's not your fault and it happens to many, many people just like you! Take care Nancy.

Hi Nanook! I guess I could say it 'didn't work out for me, but I am definitely losing weigh, so it's working , but not in any way I thought it would. I knew I'd have to sacrifice things like bread, soda, laziness, etc, and I was ready for that and continue to follow thru! I just am so sad I've had to sacrifice my qaulity of life and health, I guess. I'm very weary posting about it anyways, because I don't want to upset anyone.

Can you tell me why you had yours removed? What are you doing now? How did you get through it emotionally? How much did you lose in the 14 months? I am terrified that I won't know what to do when it comes out, because I tried that lifestyle before and was a failure at it, for sure!

Just ran across this... So sorry things are nto working out for you, but I see that you have lost some weight. Just curious, was that from Preop? or is the band just working slower than you thought? I had hoped to lose faster myself, but i have to realize it took YEARS to get to this point and it is going to take a little while to reverse it. Good luck in wherever your journey leads you! I myself am satisfied that this was the best choice for me and I am hopeful it will continue to work to get me to goal and beyond! God Bless!

All of my loss online is post-op. So I've lost 10 pounds a month since surgery. I'm losing at the exact rate I've always wanted and dreamed of and for that I am very grateful! It's working in every aspect it's supposed to as far as weight loss.

My complaints are from abdominal pain, but I've tried not to use that too much as an excuse to slow down my loss.

Oh, I see! Sorry for that! Only time i have abdominal pain is when I get constipated, and that doesn't happen if i remember to buy my "Activia" when i am at the grocery store.. That stuff is GOOD and it WORKS! You are losing at about the same rate I am, and this time next year, we can LAUGH ABOUT IT! Hang in there!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
