Can anyone still eat sushi? Not sashimi but actual rolls or hand rolls? I am banded on the 24th and am on the liquid diet so I am just thinking of all the foods I may never eat again.

Too early for me to know yet, but I certainly hope so. It is one of my favorite foods and it is pretty healthy for that matter. I have weird kids, they love sushi too and it would be said if we couldn’t still enjoy it as a family.

i eat sushi wkly. spicy tuna roll is my favorite & while i have to go slow (sticky rice can be a problem at times) - i don't have to worry about my food getting cold.:)

personally i like all rolls - i have had my sushi chef make me rolls out of cucumber which is a nice change up to the rice..

i see no reason you can't enjoy again!

I've had problems with rolls actually - it's the seaweed wrapper that gets me. I can do nigiri - the individual pieces of fish over rice - without a problem however, so I just opt for those.

It just depends on how tight you are, and everyone is different for some reason, so try it out!

I avoid the rice and the seaweed and I am fine. I tend to eat just the fish itself. I dont get to go out for sushi as much as I would like but when we do go, it takes us a while to eat anyways. I always get some hot saki to start with and take it slow from there. I might be able to eat a piece with rice on it but not much more at my current restriction level.

I'm eight months out and still have problems with sushi. I love it and would be a really easy Protein source for me but I can't get the rolls or the fish down, especially after a fill. But other people have had success so you might as well.

Good luck with your band!
