I am tow days post banding. I have NO energy at all today. Yesterday was fine until I got home from the hospital. Slept from 5 PM to 7 AM. Got up and tried to take a walk but could not do it. All I wanted to do is sleep. Came home and slept another 5 hours.

Now, an hour later I can barely keep my eyes open. What the heck is going one?

Anyone else had this problem!!!!!!!

Perfectly Normal.

C'mon, you've just had SURGERY! :sneaky:

The effects of the anesthesia will linger for a while, and just the trauma your body has suffered from the surgery is going to wear you down for a while.

Some people do better than others; some take a few days(or longer) before they get their "mojo" back!

Just relax, sleep, rest....but make sure you get some exercise.....you need to begin walking right away. They probably made you walk in the hospital, you need to continue that. Infact, the more you walk, the faster you will begin feeling normal again!

If you're taking a prescription pain med, cut it back to 1/2 and see if that helps! Also you need to walk (prevent clots) and breathe deeply frequently to keep Fluid from collecting in your lungs ... even if you can only walk short distances, do so as often as you can. Also drink water; it will help flush your system.

Were you a coffee, tea, or soda drinker prior to surgery? You may be missing caffeine, too....

I am two days post op as well...

It could be the pain medication... I didnt need any meds today, so I didnt take them... but I was prescribed Percoset... and it made me drowsy within 30 minutes of taking it. I feel alot of chest pain though... especially after I eat something. :sneaky:

What's going on is that you had surgery and are on a liquid diet. And you might be on pains meds too, all of which will cause you to be tired.

Get plenty of rest and keep up with the Fluid. Take advantage of the resting so your body can heal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
