Omg- It Really Works:0)

Recommended Posts

Well I had my second fill last Wednesday( i think it was) & wow what a difference!!!

I mean I will try & explain the sensation compared to my first fill.

With the 1st fill (1cc)I could feel restriction BUT would still eat untill I felt full which was when I felt like throwing-up. I mean I ate more than I should because I felt hungry & the only time I didn't feel hunger was when I felt pain. Also I would be hungry about 1 to 2 hour later.

Now with the second fill(+.5 total 1.5cc)

I actually don't feel like throwing up & feel this satisfaction level unlike anything before.

I mean I am literally full in about 3 to 4 bites of pure Protein & about 10 bites to 12 of non protein.

I am full for HOURS!

All liquids I have zero problems with. Its wonderful to feel so full & truely SATISFIED:)

NSV- At Boston chicken I ordered a single dinner & could barely eat 1/2. Normally I would have ordered a family dinner & even though it would have served me for several meals - I would have ate enough for 2 or more people.

Now the only BAD part is I am not getting in enough calories I think??

Because the scale has not moved at all

which is discouraging.

I have been getting around 1000 per day & tons of Water but no luck in moving the scale. So I guess I need to eat more? at least I think so? Anyone have ANY Ideas???

Anyhow - I just never knew the TOTAL AWE I would feel over this band! I mean I can't believe this feeeling of fullness & satisfaction in such a small amount of food.

It really does work!!!

Christina I'm so glad your doing good. I hope you will see that scale change but just remember its how you feel and how your clothes are fitting you that matters. I know I went through a few weeks that I wasn't seeing the scale go down but my pants were falling off... your losing inches girl... and they count. Keep up with those good bandster rules you are following and you will be well on your way being an even bigger success than you already are !!!

Hey riverrrat! I get my 1st fill on Wednesday too. I'm ready. I'm also eating WAY too much, but I am still losing which is nice. But I'm working out of sheer will power to get those lbs off and that's EXACTLY what has failed me all of these years. I'm hoping for some nice restriction with this first fill.

I must say- I really find it hard to get the calories in. Its already almost 6pm & I had an ensure for Breakfast & also a 2 egg omlet w/cheese & tomatoes & a couple green olives. Than for lunch I had 4 large crackers & a 5 layer veggie dip on top of them. 4 bottles of Water & thats it. I know I need more but simply can't right now. Tonight I'll have my Protein shake & walk & try maybe a veggie burger w/cheese & a pickle. Thats still under 1000 calories.

That will not move my scale- this is really hard- because I don't want to be hungry & am happy were I am BUT am still NOT LOSIN.

I really need a nutritianist(spelling)

I know what you mean about not enough calories - I was convinced that I was at a plateau because I couldn't take in more than 600-800 cals while on liquids. Now that I'm on mushies I'm eating more like 1200 cals and all of the sudden the pounds are dropping off again.

I really believe that the body holds onto weight when it thinks you're starving it, so it may pay off if you can find a way to get a few hundred more calories in. At any rate - congratulations on getting a good fill! I'm sure the pounds will start to come off soon!

DID YOU GUYS EVER THINK YOU'D HAVE PROBLEMS GETTING ENOUGH CALORIES? I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!! :-)

Not in my wildest dreams, did I ever think I would be stuggling to get enough down. lol I am still on liquids but I haven't gotten down more than 400 calories a day yet.

I have no idea if I am losing any weight because I don't have a scale. I thought about going and getting one but I decided there was no big hurry. SInce I am off work right now and bored to tears I would probably weigh myself every hour if I got one. I will just weigh in once a week, we have Dr.'s scales at work and my Mom has some.

Well Great news - the pounds are starting to come off & that stupid scale finally moved again.

I have lost 3 pounds this past week since my second fill. I started walking 4 + miles this week & went 4 times.

Who knows if I will continue that BUT at least I think that helped move the scale.< /p>

I met w/the nutrianist & she said 1000 cal diet was fine & then told me how to figure out how many cal I need a day to lose & mantain.

I am happy but hesitant.

I just hope it keeps going in the right direction & that I don't hit another plataue for awhile.

My restriction is perfect at this time. I can just have a few bites if its solid Protein & more if its not & I am full. F*U*L*L full! Its a beautiful thing. It really allows you to eat the right stuff right off the bat & than stay full till the next time. now my key i believe is to start moving more & maybe even start to add weights. I did PB again but only slightly yesterday & I actually helped it along just to get it over w/quickly. It was the skin of a tomatoe that did it. But I really am learning & learning- its so very cool. Within just one little week I feel totally different about my band-so totally different than a week ago! Wow!

I wish I have a problem of not getting enough calories. I had my first fill Monday and I never feel full..well hardly. Two days following my fill, I had liquid only and I was able to drink up about 1,200 - i gulp down my drink sometimes when i forget (i guess bad habit is hard to kill) and half of what i drink is already crystal light and Water. The following two days..i am on mushies...and i don't feel full....at all. I guess this means I don't have enough restrictions right? Not enough fill? Or do I need to wait and see until I am eating solids???? Any advise???

may be I have already stretched my stomach? Because two weeks before my first fill (4 wks after my surgery) I ate some solids already although I don't feel pain...maybe I overate without knowing it??? Anyone has any tips on how to help change eating habits? he.he.. the band is good but sometimes the mind is not always mindful that it's there....

I would advise waiting a 2 weeks after a fill. My first fill didn't tighten until about 1 1/2 weeks out & than I noticed the restriction alot more when I ate Proteins. Try & stay away from liquid foods & eat the tiniest of bites & chew like a mad woman. After about 1 month & 2 weeks see how much your losing. If it equals 2 pds a week than you fill is great. Or if you go 6 weeks without & weight loss & you followed the rules than MOST DEFINITLY go get .5 of a fill more. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long for the second fill BUT am glad I havelearned more about my band has time has gone by. you will too! Hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
