Recommended Posts

I was banded on Jan 15 and have only lost 7 pound . I eat a thrid of what I did before and I am losing stream fast. I can eat anything I want all day if I wanted to. I will not be filled until March 4 which I think is to long, but the doctor was to busy. I am going to a food class today. To see what I am doing wrong. Has this happened to anyone eles????

I would want to thank everyone for the help that I have recieved reading all the post.

It happens to everyone in some degree or another, that is why it is called bandster hell. You are hungry and you can still eat. Just hang in there know that this phase will pass . . . and once you start getting your fills it get so much easier. Good luck.

It's totally normal hun! It took me three fills to even get to a decent sweetspot to steadily lose weight. My doctor was more agressive at first though only making me wait 3 weeks in between fills, but, every doctor is different. There is nothing wrong with you. In 6 months you'll look back on your post and giggle a little bit. Because I did the same thing!

I'm 22 days post op and have lost 15 lbs. If you think about it that's not bad for not even one month. I was expecting to loose like you about 6 lbs. my first month. I get hungry every 2 hrs. I go March 2nd for my first fill. I'm glad you asked the question. I loose 15 gain 2 back then go down 2. I think it's fluid!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
